Ministries, (a non-profit organization)
also known as
HIM Ministries, began back in 1994 when
resigned his position as an executive of a large, international
corporation - enrolled in Bible college and headed toward full-time
ministry. Over the years, Dr. Hampton
worked extensively with many aspects of ministry such as children,
youth, drug & alcohol recovery, counseling, consulting, coaching,
foreign missions, radio, as well as chaplaincy work with emergency
service personnel. Dr. Hampton
has also provided chaplain services at four different state prisons in
northern Missouri receiving the highest of awards.
Author of the life changing book,
The High Places,
Dr. Wade's primary focus of ministry these days is with various
prisons in Missouri through preaching, teaching, and counseling.
So often when we think
of crime we become rather upset because of the extreme cost of crime
economically, financially, emotionally, and spiritually. But it is
important to consider that somewhere between 70% and 90% of these
incarcerated individuals will be released and will return back to our
streets. With that in mind, we all have a vested interest in
supporting good programs that achieve success at changing the lives of
these men and women.
The cost of crime is
truly greater than we can imagine. Crime takes an incalculable
effect on society in such areas as financial, psychological, physical,
emotional, spiritual, and more. It costs $50,000 per year to incarcerate
an individual in a maximum security prison. The national
recidivism rate is
somewhere between 50% and 70%. However, when we endeavor to take a bite out of crime, we
all win in more ways than we can imagine. When crime is low our
economic position increases and the crime prevented may be the crime
against you or a loved one. This is not an issue for someone
else. These are matters that directly effect us all.
