Dr. S. Wade Hampton,
founder and CEO of
HIM
Ministries, was born in the late 1950's and raised in St. Joseph, Missouri.
Dr. Hampton
spent his younger years being very active in church, sports, and study. He was a
good athlete and student who learned well the value of hard work and service to
church and community.
Dr. Hampton graduated high school in the mid 1970’s and
went on to pursue undergraduate studies in business. He received his Bachelor
of Business Administration degree from
Texas Christian University in Ft. Worth.
During his time at TCU, Hampton spent two years swimming on the varsity team.
Upon graduation from TCU, Hampton entered the business
world and worked for a large international corporation. Actually, Hampton had
begun working for that company in the factory as a teenager.
Then, at the age of thirty-four,
he resigned his position from that same company as a top executive
and pursued graduate studies in theology through
Zoe University
in Jacksonville, Florida. After much hard work and some years
later, he received a Ph.D. in Theology and a Ph.D. in Christian Counseling.
Hampton then worked as a chaplain at a drug and alcohol treatment center. He
also did volunteer work as a police chaplain and prison chaplain. Dr. Wade’s love
for law enforcement motivated him toward the profession. He spent
several years as a law enforcement officer obtaining the rank of police
chief in a small rural town in northern Missouri.
Over the years Dr. Hampton has worked extensively in ministering to
emergency service personnel as well as counseling ministry, children’s
ministry, youth ministry, prison ministry, drug/alcohol recovery
ministry, etc.
Author of the life changing book,
The High Places,
Dr. Wade continues to work tirelessly with prison ministry,
counseling ministry, consulting ministry, and much more.
As a Licensed Christian Counselor, Dr. Hampton’s vast
life experiences, education, and work related efforts give him an in-depth and unique perspective
with all his ministry efforts which include counseling,
consulting, coaching, preaching, and teaching.
